Selective Soldering
SELECTIVE SOLDERING IS COMPATIBLE WITH CONVENTIONAL & LEAD FREE SOLDER*.
CUSTOM NOZZLES AND FOUNTAINS FOR LEAD FREE SOLDER ARE ALSO AVAILABLE!
*Lead free solder may necessitate optional nitrogen inertion of entire system to minimize dross formation. Ceramic coatings are also available to combat the corrosive nature of lead free solder and other materials such as tin.
The SS3800 is designed for HIGH volume production selective soldering and can be retrofit to an existing line with full SMEMA interface. The 3800 will handle pallets or PCB's up to 12" x 18" with an output rate capability of 10 panels per minute! The machine can be modified to accept larger assemblies up to 24" x 24". This series of selective soldering equipment can be configured with optional, multiple solder pots with dedicated solder nozzles and bar code ID for running various types of product in the same system without any changeover! This machine uses a servo driven INLINE walking beam conveyor which receives an unsoldered assembly and delivers it completed at the exit. The cycle is fully automatic with no operator involvement. A unique feature of our walking beam is the ability to detect misaligned product or product with missing pilot holes, which will halt operation before damage occurs.
The system uses our proven Fluxers, as well as our Preheaters. Unlike most competitive equipment available, the 3800's use a PLC rather than a custom controller and or software. Our design is also very user and maintenance friendly. Machine tool style and quality of construction allows simple access to all maintenance items. The solder pot is mounted to bearing rails so the pot can be extricated from the machine by simply rolling it back and locking in place. Solder pot servicing can then be performed outside the machine workspace! Sliding covers on the solder pot open on demand only, to minimize dross formation. Full nitrogen inertion of the solder pot and pump is available.
Operating the machine requires a very minimal learning curve. All functions of the machine are controlled thru the touch screen and includes full manual cycling of all machine functions. Complete machine diagnostics and status messages are also displayed thru the touch screen. Fluxer adjustments are at the operators console and include full gauges with fine adjustment regulators for all fluxer settings. Fluxer applicator speed control is also on the operators console. Pneumatic "Slow Start" prevents machine and product damage.
