Question: Can Solder Pots be used to solder parts other than PCB's?
Answer: YES, Premier has developed custom tooling applications to allow our solder pots to be used for any and all industries that solder parts. This includes the PCB industry, as well as Automotive (alternators, starters, etc.), lead tinning, strip tinning, any thru hole application, etc....

Question: Can the solder pots run any type solder?
Answer: YES, the Solder Pots can run virtually any type of solder, including LEAD FREE, with the limitation of the max. temperature of the solder at 800F. Higher temps can be accommodated with the high temp option.

Question: Can the solder pots be used to melt and/or pump other molten materials and metals?
Answer: YES, the Solder Pots can be used to melt materials such as wax, babbitt, etc. with the limitation of the max. temperature of the material at 800F. Higher material temps would require the high temp option. Heated feed lines and other items can be integrated to provide a "turn key" solution for your needs.

Question: What are the major differences in the Solder Pots?
Answer: The main differences are size, tooling and solder capacities. The solder pots in their various sizes can accommodate tooling within their physical limitations. The various solder pot sizes are offered to accommodate parts which may exceed the allotted tooling capacity of a solder pot. The options available for solder pots apply to any size solder pot.

Question: Why use Preheaters before soldering parts?
Answer: The most important reason is for consistent quality solder joints. Preheating a part results in substantially lower solder times, better solder flow into the work zone, eliminates icicling, and can virtually eliminate rework due to cold joints. In short, preheating enhances the soldering process quality, resulting in higher throughput, fewer rejects, and faster cycle times!

Question: What are the Rework machines used for?
Answer: The RW series was developed to provide the ability to rework higher volume PCB's (large or small) and other products in a semi-automated fashion with fully contained processing of the product including programmable preheating, laser sighting of rework points and a large capacity solder pot. It also uses a menu based touch screen interface to provide ease of use and minimal learning curve.

Question: What is the applicability of the SS3800 inline machine?
Answer: The SS3800 inline Selective Soldering machine was developed for high volume, inline production of assemblies. It has all features of our Solder Pots, Fluxers and Preheaters, but is designed for unattended continuous operation. It is designed to provide a completed assembly every 20 seconds or less!
